In 2022, Tankly owners Grant and Alex moved to a property with no connection to the town mains. For over
a year, we lived a life of blissful ignorance to our coming water woes.
"Water in The Tank - Money in the Bank" was a popular phrase around the house.
Then in late 2023, the rain stopped. The tanks dried up. The local water cartage companies were under
the pump. Little baby Darcy's nightly baths became a luxury.
We quickly found out just how difficult it was to make a booking with a local carter, having to call up
several companies, finding when their next availability was, then calling back the other companies to
say we'd found one who could deliver sooner. Surely theres a 21st century solution!
After doing some research, we found that it wasn't the water carters' fault - There was simply no
solution available to them to help facilitate their business.
Being both in the IT industry, (Grant a software developer, Alex a UI/UX Designer), we knew we could
work together to create something to help these companies.
From the day we started - we focused on helping the smaller companies, the "one-man-bands", with the
plan to support larger companies as time went on.
